What to watch in ONGC's Q2 FY27 results
- Crude realisation. ONGC's standalone net profit rose 112% from a year earlier to ₹17,034 crore in Q1, as the net realisation on its nominated crude rose to $99.45 a barrel from $66.13. Standalone revenue rose 45% to ₹46,460 crore.
- HPCL. Group profit was cut by HPCL's consolidated net loss of ₹12,265 crore, which ONGC puts down to under-recoveries on fuels after crude prices jumped with the West Asia crisis. Profit attributable to ONGC's shareholders still rose 21.4% to ₹11,899 crore.
- Production. Standalone oil and gas output fell 3.4% from a year earlier to 9.444 million tonnes of oil equivalent. ONGC cites reservoir behaviour in KG-98/2, sea swell in the Western Offshore and wells shut for project commissioning, and expects the decline to be arrested and reversed.
- Gas and dividend. Gas from new wells fetched $13.31 per mmBtu against $7.00 for nomination gas and brought in ₹3,998 crore, about 38% of revenue from nomination gas. The 5 November board meeting will also consider a dividend.
