Genvest analysis

Revenue from operations rose 34.1% from a year earlier and 16.0% from the June quarter to ₹20,003 crore, which the company says is its first quarter above ₹20,000 crore. Net profit rose 35.2% from a year earlier and 12.4% from June to ₹3,354 crore. Bajaj Auto sold 15,48,884 vehicles, 19.7% more than a year earlier, and says pricing, a richer sales mix and favourable currency realisation added to the volume growth. Other operating revenue, which the filing does not break down, rose to ₹1,124 crore from ₹498 crore.

Exports rose 40.7% to 7,78,528 vehicles, slightly more than the 7,70,356 sold in India. Two-wheeler exports rose 43.2% to 6,76,545 and commercial vehicle exports 26.0% to 1,01,983. The company says exports grew despite intermittent logistics disruptions, with Africa nearly doubling its billing from a year earlier to a quarterly high above its FY21 peak, and Latin America setting another sales record.

Domestic volumes rose 4.0%, but the company says domestic revenue rose 30%, led by electric vehicles. Its electric portfolio reached a record of about 2 lakh units, against 82,000 a year earlier, despite constrained supply, and now makes up a third of domestic revenue. Chetak scooter volumes more than doubled and revenue crossed ₹2,000 crore, even as demand outstripped supply; electric three-wheeler volumes and revenue also more than doubled. Domestic two-wheeler volumes rose 1.8% to 6,07,416 and commercial vehicles 13.0% to 1,62,940, while KTM and Triumph motorcycles sold in India topped 40,000 units, with revenue up 45%.

EBITDA rose 36.7% to ₹4,172 crore, and the EBITDA margin was 20.9%, against 20.5% a year earlier and level with June. The company says currency gains, operating leverage and cost control made up for input-cost inflation that pricing only partly recovered. By our calculation from the filing, raw material and traded-goods costs rose to 71.9% of revenue from 70.1% a year earlier, while other expenses fell to 5.1% from 6.8% and employee costs to 2.3% from 2.7%. Other income rose 13.6% to ₹419 crore, but was 18.1% lower than in June.

Consolidated net profit attributable to shareholders was ₹3,436 crore on revenue of ₹25,126 crore, but the company says these figures are not comparable with a year earlier. On 18 November 2025 it took control of Bajaj Auto International Holdings AG, which holds about 74.9% of Bajaj Mobility AG, the parent of KTM AG. It now consolidates that group's results with a one-quarter lag; a year earlier, the accounts carried a ₹634 crore share of its loss as an associate, covering six months. In July Bajaj Auto completed a ₹5,632.80 crore buyback of 46,94,000 shares. It says it has returned about ₹10,000 crore to shareholders through dividends and the buyback, and still has surplus funds of about ₹15,500 crore.

What Bajaj Auto's results mean for fund investors

  • Auto and transportation funds. Carmakers, two-wheeler makers and auto-parts companies make up most of these funds, so results days move them more than diversified equity funds.
  • Index funds. The Nifty Auto index is made up of vehicle and auto-parts makers, and the largest of them are also in the Nifty 50, so index funds tracking either hold the company in proportion to its weight.
  • Overlap. If you hold several auto funds, or vehicle-maker shares alongside them, check how concentrated you are with the portfolio analyzer.
