What Mirae Asset Life Cycle Fund 2056 will invest in

The scheme information document states the objective as: “The Scheme seeks to generate long term capital appreciation by investing in a diversified portfolio of equity and equity related instruments, debt and money market instruments, InvITs, Gold and Silver ETFs, and Exchange Traded Commodity Derivatives (ETCDs).”

It invests in equity, debt and money market instruments, plus up to 10% in gold and silver ETFs and similar instruments. It follows a 30-year glide path, moving from mostly equity towards arbitrage and debt as its 2056 maturity approaches.

How it compares with existing life cycle funds

  • AMFI lists 3 existing life cycle funds. They invest in quite different things, so their returns are not compared here.

What to check before investing in this NFO

  • The ₹10 price is not a discount. Units start at ₹10 only to set the unit count. Returns depend on how the fund's investments move, in percentage terms, exactly as for an existing fund.
  • There is no track record yet. A new fund has no returns of its own to judge. The fund manager's other schemes, and how existing life cycle funds have done over several years, are the closest guide.
  • Overlap with what you already own. If you already hold life cycle funds, or a flexi cap or large cap fund, check how much this fund's likely holdings would repeat them.
  • Direct plan and costs. The direct plan pays no distributor commission, so its expense ratio is lower than the regular plan’s. Over many years the difference compounds.
  • Exit load. If redeemed within 1 Year from the date of allotment/within one year of investment: 3%; If redeemed after 1 Year from the date of allotment/investment but before completion of 2 years: 2%; If redeemed after 2 Year from the date of allotment/investment but before completion of 3 years: 1%; If redeemed after 3 Year from the date of allotment/investment: NIL No Exit Load shall be levied on switch transactions from Regular Plan to Direct Plan and vice versa under the Scheme.

After the NFO closes

Units are allotted after the offer closes. The fund then publishes a daily NAV and reopens for regular purchases, SIPs and redemptions. Reopens for purchase and redemption on 21 October 2026.

Once a fund has a record, Genvest Research shows its returns against its benchmark, volatility and drawdowns.
